Port Dickson, or PD as it is commonly called in Malaysia, is the closest beach to Kuala Lumpur.

It is a fast drive of about 1 hour by freeway about 80 km south-west from Kuala Lumpur, and 32km west of the local regional centre: Seremban.It can also be accessed by frequent buses or taxis that ply the route between Kuala Lumpur and the resort.

This all makes the area a mecca for both locals and tourists alike to get away from the hustle and bustle of Malaysia’s thriving capital for a weekend or longer stay.It is a frequent weekend retreat for many inland dwellers, especially those from the city seeking temporary escape from a hectic and stressful life.

PD comes alive in August each year during the "Pesta Port Dickson". This annual event draws in crowds from all over the country.This is one great time to visit PD as there are many extra activities and cultural events relating to the life of the locals.
